How Tickwright came to be.
Tickwright opened on Wireless Road in Bangkok's Lumphini district after its founder spent several years working at watch repair counters and private workshops across the city. The recurring observation was that owners often received vague explanations, lengthy delays, and no written record of what had been done to their watch.
The workshop was set up around a different idea: that watch repair should be straightforward, that the owner should understand what is happening, and that the work should be documented. Three services were defined, each with a clear scope and a fixed starting price. No unanticipated costs, no work carried out without agreement.
Since opening, Tickwright has built a steady clientele in Bangkok's expatriate and local professional communities — people who own quality watches and want them maintained to a reasonable standard without drama. The workshop is set up for exactly that kind of work.

Condition assessment first
Every watch is examined before any work begins. Findings are recorded and shared with the owner before proceeding.
Proper parts sourcing
Replacement parts are sourced from established suppliers. No shortcuts that could compromise the reliability of the finished work.
Timing verification
Overhauled movements are measured on a timing machine across multiple positions. Results accompany the completed work.
Secure handling throughout
Each watch is tagged on arrival and stored securely. Movements and cases are not mixed between jobs.
Written job records
Every completed service includes documentation. Owners leave with a clear account of what was done and what to monitor.
No hidden decisions
If the scope of work changes or a finding needs attention, we contact the owner. Nothing additional proceeds without agreement.

Tickwright occupies a different space: an independent workshop focused on mechanical movements, where work is completed by the person who assessed it and documented carefully from intake to return.
The workshop on Wireless Road has handled pieces ranging from entry-level automatics to vintage dress watches several decades old. The approach does not change depending on the value of the piece — a thorough assessment, clear communication, and methodical bench work apply equally to a ฿15,000 field watch and a significant vintage piece.
Clients come from across Bangkok's professional and expatriate communities, often referred by colleagues or previous customers. The majority arrive with watches that have not been serviced in several years. A significant portion carry pieces with sentimental value as much as monetary. Both receive the same unhurried attention.
Tickwright does not chase volume. The workshop runs with a small team, handles a manageable number of jobs at a time, and prioritises doing each one properly over processing more pieces quickly. That constraint is by design.
