Why Tickwright
What sets this workshop apart
from the alternatives.
Independent, documented, and unhurried. Here is why watch owners in Bangkok choose Tickwright over larger or less specialised options.
Back to HomeAt a Glance
Six reasons owners come back.
Everything in writing
Every job leaves with documentation. No verbal-only explanations. Owners have a clear record of condition, work completed, and any recommendations.
Fixed, transparent pricing
All three services have published prices. Scope changes are discussed before additional costs are incurred. No surprises at collection.
Owner consent at each step
Nothing additional proceeds without the owner's agreement. Assessment findings are communicated before work begins.
Specialist mechanical focus
The workshop handles mechanical watches only. Not quartz, not batteries, not smartwatches. Focus produces better results for the watches we take in.
Vintage and long-neglected pieces welcome
Many workshops turn away older movements. Tickwright is equipped for pieces that have not been opened in many years and require careful assessment.
Central Bangkok, easy to reach
19 Wireless Road, Lumphini — a short walk from BTS Ploenchit, accessible from most parts of the city within 30 minutes.
Deep mechanical expertise
Experience & Knowledge
The workshop's lead watchmaker has over fifteen years of hands-on experience with mechanical movements. This covers Swiss lever escapements, older pin-pallet designs, automatic winding systems, and hand-wound dress watches of various origins. Practical experience across a wide range of movement types is not something that can be replicated quickly.
- Swiss, Japanese, and European movement familiarity
- Vintage and obsolete calibre knowledge
- Timing machine verification on completed overhauls
A clear process, start to finish
Methodology & Process
Each job follows the same sequence: intake and condition record, assessment, agreement on scope, bench work, verification, documentation, and return. Nothing is skipped because the watch looks straightforward. The process exists because consistent procedure produces consistent results.
- Condition documented at intake
- Scope agreed before work begins
- Written record accompanies return
Proper workshop equipment
Equipment & Technology
The bench is equipped with an ultrasonic cleaning machine for movement parts, a timing machine for rate measurement, and appropriate watchmaking tools for the movement types handled. Work is carried out under magnification. This is not a counter-based repair setup — it is a genuine workshop.
- Ultrasonic parts cleaning
- Multi-position timing machine
- Appropriate lubrication materials for each movement
Plain communication
Service Excellence
Owners receive straightforward explanations, not jargon designed to obscure. If a movement has an issue that falls outside the agreed scope, we contact you and explain what we found in plain terms. You decide what happens next.
- No unexplained charges
- Findings communicated clearly
- English and Thai spoken at the counter
Fair value for skilled work
Pricing & Value
Pricing reflects the actual work involved — not a brand premium or a minimum charge designed to extract maximum spend. An overhaul at ฿28,500 covers full disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, appropriate lubrication, regulation, and a timing report. Each item in that scope justifies its place in the price.
- Published prices for all services
- No upselling of unnecessary services
- Parts cost discussed before ordering

What Only Tickwright Offers
Distinctive features of this workshop.
Timing report on every overhaul
A printed timing sheet showing rate measurements across multiple positions comes with every completed overhaul. Owners can see exactly how the movement is performing and have a baseline for future comparisons.
Unhurried single-bench workflow
One watchmaker handles one movement at a time. There is no production line, no batching, and no handoff between different technicians mid-job. The person who assessed your watch is the person who completes the work.
Older movement acceptance policy
Many workshops decline pieces from the 1960s–80s due to parts availability or unfamiliarity. Tickwright handles these cases and communicates clearly about any challenges before proceeding.
No-surprise commitment
If the scope changes, if a part is unavailable, or if an unexpected issue is found — we stop and contact the owner. Work only continues once there is explicit agreement. No assumptions.
